Sam West #62
Sam started riding bikes at the age of 18, like many people he wasn’t ‘allowed’ a bike by his parents so had to wait till he was old enough to go and buy on himself! Not too long afterwards he was involved in a few incidents with the local constabulary and so started racing to get his biking fix.. since then he has gone from strength to strength and has now established himself as one of the leading road race competitors in the world.
Sams race calendar consists of the main international road races, along with the BSB Superstock 1000 series where he is now competing in his 8th season at the event.
Sam’s season is centered around the Isle of Man TT. Undoubtedly the pinnacle of the road racing season, the TT is enjoyed by fans globally. The 37.7 mile course presents many challenges and levels of competition are extremely high. Other key races for Sam are the Macau Grand Prix which takes place in China and is one of the most exciting and dangerous motorsport events to be found anywhere in the world.
The Ulster Grand Prix is next on the list as one of biggest races of the year and is known as the worlds fastest road race, it takes place around the tree lined country roads not far from Belfast.
Sam also races at the North West 200 which kicks off the international road race season at the beginning of May, this high speed circuit has the highest top speed of any road circuit, with racers regularly reaching close to 210mph.
