MCE Insurance Ulster Grand Prix
9-12th August

The Ulster Grand Prix is a legendary race, held on the Dundrod circuit in the twisting country roads outside Belfast. It is technically the fastest road race in the world, with average lap speeds of over 134mph – some feat given that the course includes slow 1st and 2nd gear corner at road junctions. The start/finish straight is known as the flying kilo – a full kilometre of narrow tree lined straight which will see the superbikes achieving speeds of over 200mph

Steam Packet International Southern 100
9-16th July

The Southern 100 takes place on the tight and bumpy roads of the south of the Isle of Man near the former capital Castletown.
The roads don’t see a lot of traffic most of the year and so aren’t anything like what most people would ever expect to be a race circuit.
Incredibly tight and technical, with some of the worst bumps of any track worldwide, but also some fast open straights.

Very rewarding for the rider when its done right, but deadly when it goes wrong as the circuit is lined in its entirety with ancient dry stone walls and farm buildings.

BSB Superstock 1000 Knockhill
KRC Knockhil Racce Circuit - Dumfermline Scotland

After the break for the NW200 and TT, the BSB series starts again at Knockhill.

The short and sweet circuit is just 49 seconds per lap, a technical challenge for riders often with poor weather conditions. The tarmac is good in all conditions, but twists up and down the side of the hillside from where it takes its name. The steep drops and constant undulations provide a thrill for the riders and spectators, as the technicalities often cause dramatic crashes.

Isle of Man TT
27th May - 9th June 2017

The ultimate motorsports event, a 37.7 mile circuit on closed roads, lined with walls, trees, and houses.

The length of the races alone at 220+miles means that each time out is an endurance race for both rider and machine, many not finishing the event due to breakdowns and crashes.

The nature of the event has lead to some criticism with serious accidents a common occurence – but this will never stop the riders looking for the ultimate race, the ultimate test of the bike and themselves, there is no other race on earth that compares and riders come from all round the world to the invitation-only event to prove themselves.

North West 200
9th - 13th May 2017

The North West 200 was the first road race of the season for Sam and his team.

It takes place on the triangular road circuit in Coleraine on the north coast and has become infamous in recent years for changing weather and bomb scares. It is the only true way to test a bike and rider before the TT as it takes place at the start of the season and has the required aspects – bumps, high speed corner, and 200+mph straights.
